In Water Treatment Plants, purification of water is done. Here, the unwanted germs and microbes are removed to bring forth safe and healthy water for usage. Water Treatment Plant follows various steps for the purification of water, these steps include:

  • Pre-Chlorination
  • Aeration
  • Coagulation
  • Sedimentation
  • Filtration
  • Desalination
  • Disinfection

These steps are followed to make the water suitable for use. Water treatment process changes according to the usage of water. Different water treatment plants have different applications. Read on to know more:

Wastewater Treatment Plant:
Here, the water collected from industries, homes and various sources are collected and treated. This is done to make the water reusable for cleaning and other purposes. The process allows removal of chemical, biological, and radioactive waste from water. Sewage Treatment, Sludge Treatment Plants, and Decentralized Wastewater Treatment Plant are a part of this process and the water is reused for irrigation purposes.

Surface Water Treatment Plant:
This is mainly used by the municipal corporations to purify the drinking water by the process of sedimentation, disinfection, sand filtration, and many other methods. These steps decontaminate the water to make it fit for drinking and cooking purposes.

Containerized Water Treatment Plant:
This process is used to make the purified water available in remote areas. Widely used in mining and military camps, containerized water treatment is a suitable option for remote locations.

Ozone Based Treatment Plant:
Ozone acts as superior disinfectant for various microbes and parasites. Widely used in treatment of pool water or water stored in the cooling tower, the plant does not require chemicals to remove the impurities.

Seawater Treatment Plant:
The sea water is treated to remove the excess of salt. Processes like membrane separation, desalination, and many more are used to make the water fit for usage.

Package Wastewater Treatment Plant:
At Package Wastewater Treatment Plant, the waste water is treated by the process of aeration. The Plant is used for various applications in rural, semi-urban, military, constructional sites and various similar areas.

Bottled Water Treatment Plant:
The water available in the packaged bottle is collected from the source and is treated to remove the germs and add the extra minerals to make it fit for use.

These treatments make water fit for various purposes. The treated water is widely used for irrigation and other external usage. Properly treated and purified water is used for drinking purposes as well.
